Question

Instead of my just writing stuff I wanted to try and get you guys involved. As you know I believe that eating disorders affect development and there is reasons for that, but there are people who do not believe this. I want to know some of your opinions. Do you believe that eatdisorders affect development? Why or why not? There is no right or wrong answer it is strictly your opinion, and I am not here to judge. I just want to see what some of you guys feel! Thank you!

  1. I do believe that eating disorders affect development. Eating disorders can lead to very real and very serious negative affects on people’s health because their bodies aren’t getting the nutrition that it needs to function correctly. And if your body isn’t getting what it needs to function, it can stunt your growth severely.

I would think that eating disorders have a significant effect on the development of both the physical and psychological well-being of the individual, but more importantly the individuals psychological well-being. It may prevent the individual from developing proper coping mechanisms for stress or the proper socio-emotional skills for adequate mental health.

  3. Eating disorders definitely do have an affect on development. Eating disorders can strip a person of the proper nutrients that they need, resulting in muscle loss, frequent dizziness, dental problems, damage to the internal organs, and several other issues. It also affects mental health and ability, such as confusion, fatigue, depression, anxiety, etc. A person can suffer greatly because of eating disorders.
