Mixing it up: Autistic spectrum

“The practice of dance is highly structured and very ritualized, a selling point for children with autism”, a quote by Susan Moffitt (writer of the article below) explains that engaging in dance allows children with autism to become more imaginative and express feelings/emotions – which is hard for children diagnosed in this spectrum.

As a child who participates in different dance styles, their engagement with friends and others opens up their world where it was once hard for them to be social.
