Looking at the numbers, it clearly tells us how developmental delays are not common because most likely a child is diagnosed with a developmental disability. And people do not realize if he/she had a developmental delay because it was treated on time. I can say so myself. I did not know that I had a speech impediment until I was in middle school. I hope the statistics helps to see a difference between developmental delays and disabilities.
