Interestingly enough, I found an article that involves dance therapy and eating disorders.
Due to eating disorders, patients feel like they are missing something and no longer feel a sense of being “whole”. With movement therapy, strategies that help cope with eating disorders as well as help a person become whole again include: Rhythmic synchrony, Kinesthetic awareness, and kinesthetic empathy. Rhythmic synchrony is the ability to be in tune with our mind/body and the music we dance to. Kinesthetic awareness is the mind and body and their response of signals and non-verbal expressions (Kinesthetic empathy)
